Police in Ontario have charged a 44-year-old man after finding fentanyl stuffed inside a rotisserie chicken located in his hotel room.

Kingston police said the discovery was made at a local hotel on April 15 around 9:45 p.m. after the hotel reported the man was uttering threats to staff.

Police said the man had been involved in an argument with hotel staff and as a result, the hotel had asked him to leave. The man threatened to hurt the staff members and instead went back to his room, police said.

Police said they found the accused in the room and arrested him for uttering threats.

Officers then searched the area, and found two pellet handguns in the man’s possession. A further search of his belongings uncovered several drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, which had been hidden inside a whole rotisserie chicken.

In total police said they seized two pellet firearms, 46.1 grams of fentanyl, 10.8 grams of cocaine and 25.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
