Canadian fighter jets were sent to intercept a private civilian plane that breached restricted airspace over Kananaskis, Alta., where the G7 summit is currently taking place.
The fixed-wing Canadian aircraft entered the no-fly zone shortly after 11 a.m. on June 15, prompting NORAD’s Canadian region (CANR) to deploy CF-18 Hornet fighter jets to intercept it, the RCMP said in a press release.
