Even Those With Multiple Jobs Living Paycheque to Paycheque: ADP Survey
SHARE

A new study shows many workers who have multiple jobs are still struggling amid the high cost of living.

ADP Research, which surveyed 38,000 working adults globally across roughly three dozen markets between July 23 and Aug. 6, found 23 percent of respondents had two or more jobs.

It found among workers with two jobs, roughly six in ten said they still lived paychque to paycheque.

In Canada, the survey shows about half of those with two jobs say they do it to cover necessary expenses. Fifty-eight percent of Canadians working three jobs say they are doing it to build their savings or retirement funds.

While affordability was the top reason for multiple jobs, 16 percent of respondents said there were fewer full-time job opportunities–which pushed them to work multiple jobs.

Overall, the survey found 56 percent of working Canadians were living paycheque to paycheque.
